How often are security patches released?
Star Guard releases security patches every quarter (4 times per year). These include the latest Google Android security fixes and Glory Star-specific improvements. Updates install silently with no disruption to operations.

Are OS upgrades guaranteed?
Major Android OS upgrades are provided free whenever the device hardware and chipset supplier support the new version. We perform a compatibility check first. If compatible, you get the upgrade. If not, you continue receiving quarterly security patches on your current version for the full 5-year term.

What happens after the 5-year period ends?
After 5 years, devices will no longer receive new updates through SmartGuard. You can:

Disclaimers/Terms
Availability of Android OS Upgrades
Android OS upgrades are available only if hardware and chip supplier support the new version. Glory Star performs a compatibility check before major upgrades; incompatible devices will not receive them. Devices on the previous OS will get quarterly security patches for up to 12 months after a new Android version is released.
Extended 5-Year Support
Star Guard provides up to 5 years of firmware updates and security patches from purchase, if the device stays on the latest compatible OS. After Google ends support for an Android version, Glory Star may continue patches at its discretion based on vulnerability severity. The 5-year period may vary due to hardware, chip supplier, and business factors
Support Limitations
Technical support for any specific firmware or OS upgrade is limited to 30 days following the update release. After the 5-year SmartGuard period expires, no further firmware updates or technical support will be provided unless a new agreement is executed.
